Our professional artist will instruct the class and show how to paint the selected painting. The artist explains the painting process step by step with detailed instruction. There are no rules regarding how our guests would like to paint their masterpiece. Creativity runs wild here! We take breaks throughout the class so that guests can have some social time with friends and grab snacks, wine (or any drinks) and to also enjoy whatever music we have playing (yes, we take requests!).
Art ‘N Soul is conveniently located near fantastic restaurants, bars, boutiques, coffee shops etc.… So, when your class is over feel free to continue the fun in the Heights!!

~ What makes Art ‘N Soul the best paint and sip experience in the area?
Art ‘N Soul is a fabulously decorated art studio in the heart of Peoria Heights. We are surrounded by exceptional shops and boutiques, upscale restaurants, and entertaining night life. It is the perfect location to start the night out with painting and wine, and then continue your night out on the town. Our guests can bring in their own drinks without paying for overpriced cocktails elsewhere. We encourage food during classes. Guests like to order food from local restaurants, or some pack a picnic basket of treats to enjoy throughout the class. We supply paper plates, cups, napkins, silverware, wine glasses, and bottle openers. There is also a food table and refrigerator for guests to use. This is all complimentary and there are no hidden fees! Lastly, there are 3 undeniable elements that make us the best… Experience, education, and passion. Art ‘N Soul gallery owner, Chris Chapman, has been painting for 40 years and has been teaching for almost 20. His biggest joy is seeing the finished pieces from guests who didn’t know they could paint. If you are looking for a good painting experience, there is nobody better to learn from! May we add that all of the artwork you see in the gallery is for sale!!?

~ Do I need to sign up in advance?
Yes! Because seating is limited and we often sell out, it is recommended that you sign up in advance in order to reserve your seat. You can do this by paying online under the “Registration” tab on our website. Walk-ins are always welcome, space permitting, unless of course there is a private party scheduled. You can call (309) 310-9247 if you have any questions or need help reserving a class.

~ What time do I show up?
EARLY is great! We highly recommend coming into the studio 15 to 20 minutes before the class since we try to start painting at the designated time AND seating is first come first serve! This allows you some extra social time and lets you to get comfortable before the class.

~ What do I wear?
Smocks are supplied before the class begins, however, it is a good idea to wear something that you wouldn’t mind getting some paint on. Please remember that Art ‘N Soul Galleries is a “painting” studio and paint can end up anywhere! Feel free to bring a smock of your own or a different shirt to change into if you will be continuing your night out on the town. Please note that Art ‘N Soul is not responsible for paint getting on personal items.

~ Can we bring food?
Of course! Feel free to bring any snacks you wish or purchase some appetizers from the restaurants in the Heights to bring with you. We can also recommend and coordinate local catering for private parties!

~ Can I reserve the gallery for a large group?
Definitely. We love hosting private parties for bachelor/ettes, birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events, team building experiences, or any other reason you can think of to get together with all your friends! Call us for more info.

~ What are the prices of a class and what does it include?
The classes are $38 which includes a 2 hour class with professional instruction, all supplies (aprons, brushes, easels, canvases, palettes and paint), and complete set up and clean up… Oh, and a masterpiece created by you! Don’t forget the studio is BYOB (bring your own beer – or any drink) and food too!

~ Can I tip the Artist for doing a great job?
Absolutely! As we all know, tips are generally given when good service is provided. We believe that being taught how to paint a masterpiece is quite a service, indeed! Of course, tips are not mandatory, but if you feel like your artist deserves a tip then by all means, please do. We do have a handy dandy tip jar too, just for that!

~ What kind of alcoholic beverages can I bring?
You may bring anything you wish! Wine, beer, mixed drinks, soda, tea, coffee, anything.

~ Where do I park?
Parking is free right here at Heritage Square – in front of the studio. There is plenty more parking located in the back as well if there is an event going on and the lot is full.

~ I don’t drink…can I still attend a class?
Without question! Feel free to bring any nonalcoholic beverages and any snacks. The option to bring alcohol is not mandatory, just a very fun perk.

~ I can’t even draw a stick figure! Are you sure I can do this?
OF COURSE! NO experience or art background is needed to attend. Every step is taught by an educated and talented art instructor with many breaks throughout the class. Our intention is to take the fear out of painting. Painting is fun and that’s exactly what the point of these classes are. Ask as many questions as you feel necessary.

~ What if I’m late to a class?
We highly recommend that you get to the class early because we start painting when the class begins. For example, if the class is from 6pm – 9pm, we will start painting at 6pm. Every minute that you are late, you are missing important information about the painting. Not to mention it is a disturbance to the other guests who have come on time and are already painting. Even if you have some skill in painting and don’t think that you need instruction, please respect the rest of the class and show up on time.

~ What is your cancellation policy?
Because our classes have limited seating, you must cancel at least 48 hours before a class for a full refund. That gives us the opportunity to fill the seat. You may cancel by phone or online.

~ Is there glassware available?
Yes. Simple right?

~ Can I reschedule if I don’t show up to the class?
Sorry, we do not reschedule guests who are “no-shows”. Please call us if you cannot make it. We may have a wait list and we (and the guests waiting) would really like to fill the empty seat.

~ Is there a cork fee?
No!
